Getting Stronger Everyday

Hi everyone! Things are still going well for me here. The real challenge is the bordom. Daytime TV sucks, unless the Cubs are playing or the Olympics are on.

I'm in full "bubble" mode now. It's not as bad as it sounds - I just have to wear a mask and gloves when I want to leave my room. Visitors must wear a mask around me all the time. My biggest complaint is that when I am wearing a mask, my glasses fog over. It's kind of hot too. But bearable.

I got to take my first shower today! It was awesome. I had to go 7 whole days without, and the sponge bath was not doing it for me. I'm so glad I cut off most of my hair - that would have been a nightmare of greasiness.

Between yesterday and today, I lost 8 pounds of water weight! I was beginning to think I was going to split open like a sausage.

If you are having trouble posting on the blog - keep trying. It took me a few times before I got the hang of it. Otherwise, you can always email me at jschwemler@att.net. Thanks for all the posts and emails.

do you feel like reading? can you have books? library books are pretty germy. i have fantastic recommendations though, if you want.
i can't tell you how much "bitch bag" made me laugh. that name can apply to so many things...
you sound really good, like you're not feeling too horrible. i hope so. when will the worst parts be over?
the internet is so wonderful.

Jenette,
It is GREAT to see your voice!!
I am soo happy to read about your progress.
Kevin did a good job at out board meeting last night, but nobody can ever take the place of the lovely and talented Jenette.
As a tribute to you, we voted on some things that weren't on the agenda. We had an executive session and we talked about things that were not published. I don't even think there was a tape in the recording device.
Of course you know I am kidding. You taught us better than that.
I do have one question. Milt was out of town and we couldn't agree on his replacement, so we appointed a member of the audience as Mayor pro tem. That's OK, right?

Thanks for doing the blog. I look forward to watching you get better and better!

Hi Jen
Happy to hear that you are still feeling good. I am sure that you enjoyed your shower - I can only imagine how good it felt! You are right, daytime TV does suck, but at least the Olympics are on now, which gives you something interesting to watch. Thank you for your posts, it is wonderful to be able to know how you are doing on a daily basis. We all love you lots, and send our good thoughts your way. Take care! Gretchen and kids

Hi Jenette-
Happy Hump Day! Happy for you...you got your first shower in a week! Crazy what makes us happy when we're full of drugs.
I hope you can keep eating normally (whatever normal is!) I know you probably have a metallic taste in your mouth from the drugs or maybe it is wearing off by now. You just need a smoothie from Jamba Juice! Just say the word and I'll bring one to you!
You are amazing...I'm so glad to hear that you're doing so well. Ready to work out yet? I'll be here whenever you are ready!
Take care,
Jean
