Update

I'm still impatient to get out of here. My white blood cell count is still low, and my neutrophil (sp?) level is still zero. But my neurologist encouraged me to visualize my counts going up. Greg talked to a friend of his at work who is studying to be a nurse, and she described neutrophils as the "special forces" of the immune system. So, here is my visualization: I imagine my bone marrow spitting out new "special forces" that look like little G.I. Janes. I call them G.I. Jens. I hope it works.

Otherwise, I'm feeling pretty good.

Nancy - I emailed you on 8/18 and haven't heard from you. I hope you are feeling OK. If you didn't get my email check your spam.

Gretch - I received a card from Mary Lou Gallam. Please thank her for her thoughts and prayers.

Well at least you don't have to sit like a "goddamn statue". Remember that? We had stuffed the car so full that when Mom got in the back she started yelling and screaming, "You girls have so much crap in this car I'm going to have to sit like a goddamn statue!"

Hmmm...I'm thinking maybe Dr. Underwearhead may be encouraging you to draw good energy to your healing. Whatever we call it. A good friend uncomfortable with being locked in a box of beliefs defined by others calls it living good ju-ju toward herself and others. G.I. Jens are good. A little while ago (before conquering "the blog") I sent you a message through your work e-mail. If the G.I. Jens want company visualize more. It's all good.

Any way I'm happy for you that it's that time again for company. Wonder what adventures this weekend will bring????

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Amy

Jen - I will also visualize many little "G.I. Jens" being created in your body. Mary Lou is my neighbor, she and her Mom have been praying for you ever since you went into the hospital. I will let her know that you got the card. Take care, enjoy visiting with Greg this weekend. Love you much - Gretchen

Hi Jenette,

Greg called the other day and told us you were at Rush. Sorry we did not get in touch right away, but we battle daily to get our phone messages (and hot water) with a 19 and 10 year old.

I am sorry that you are in that place. You certainly do not deserve to be there. Nobody does. However, I think you are probably there for a reason.

Perhaps it is so you can show the world the power of your Positive Mental Attitude. Or maybe so that your blog can reach out and help others to understand that there truly is hope. Either way, you WILL get better. I know it. And others will benefit from what you have to say in the interim.

Law Update. So the courthouse is still standing. It has not changed much, but they have added another courtroom to extract even more fines and court costs. Beaderstadt is a judge, Jim McAuliff is in private practice and Anne Brophy is training to get shipped out to Iraq. It doesn't phase me that much (I am still trying to come to terms with Arnold Schwarzenegger being Governor).

Speaking of visualization, picture the first thing you are going to do when you are out of there. It will set your mind on the finish line. Example: It can be something as simple as a Rolling Rock at Duke O'Brien's or something more adventurous, say...bravely walking in our backyard (Cosmopolitan in hand)to take on all less fearless nocturnal animals.

Seriously, we miss you. So look forward and let your subconscious heal you. It is more powerful then you think. Then we can all go out and leave some tavern - just before we get kicked out (ie Prairie Rock).

Remember, you faced a lot more when you decided to drive to the South Side of Chicago to hunt down Isiah Culpepper's witnesses.

You rock!

Love,
Brian
